Suspected Child Abuse

Everyone in Tennessee is a mandated reporter. Tennessee Code Annotated 37-1-403(i) (1) requires all persons to report suspected cases of child abuse or neglect. “Any person who has knowledge of or is called upon to render aid to any child who is suffering from or has sustained any wound, injury, disability, or physical or mental condition shall report such harm immediately if the harm is of such a nature as to reasonably indicate that it has been caused by brutality abuse, or neglect or that, on basis of available information, reasonably appears to have been caused by brutality, abuse, or neglect.”

Failure to report abuse is a violation of the law and a Class A misdemeanor, carrying a sentence of up to three months imprisonment, a fine or both. Those who report and “act in good faith” are immune from any civil or criminal charges, which may result. The reporter has the right to remain confidential and anonymous. 

You do not need to know all the information, and you do have the right to remain anonymous. You may report by phone or online.

      • When your Schwab account is set-up, please submit this deferral form to Jenn Burns. This form will tell the school how much to deduct from your pay.
      • On this form, please indicate that Schwab is the custodian. You do not need to fill out the Schwab phone/address lines.
      • *IMPORTANT* After the funds are transferred from the school and deposited into your Schwab account, you will need to choose which funds into which your money will be directed. More info. to follow.

    • Agathos uses hand held radios as a tool for instant communication around the campus.
    • Channel 1 is our emergency line. As a practice, keep your classroom’s radio tuned to channel 1.
    • If you need to call into the office, change to channel 5, and you will have a direct line to Emily or Colleen.
    • Car line will run off the green Group button. Upper and lower loop radios will be programmed to all hear through the Group button.
